“ If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of the giants”

The journey of twenty-five years as a member to a chairman is a learning experience. It truly, has, transformed from a nervous step to a nostalgic memoir. As the winds blow across the callosum, small anecdotes continue to create ripples in the mind. It is time to pass on the same tradition to a very motivated young group of surgeons in the next two years. It is my duty to pamper the young minds and to infuse the energy which the legends have infused in us in the yester years.

An association is not only about academics. It is about inclusiveness, about learning the art to “disagree humbly” and to debate for a “change”.

I remember the evenings of 2001 when I sat at the dimly lit 53 Creek Row and gathering wonderful facts from the typographical “Dilip Babu” about the conventions and customs of this great body. Today as the chapter nurtures the dream of hosting ASICON 2025, the greatest event of the surgeons in India, his words echoes as gospels. It is time to unite, to inspire each other and show solidarity in all spheres of society.

As a humble servant for two and half decades, I invite you all to participate in the upcoming SASICON and other academic activities.
