I. Full Title of the Award :

The award shall be known as ‘Godrej
Karai Surgical Research Fellowship’.

II. Nature, Scope and Eligibility :
a) The applicant must be a registered medical practioner, preferably with at least one year residential training in surgery. The basic criterion is that the person should possess ability as well as facilities to undertake problem-oriented research. Persons in Government or others employment, postgraduate trainees and other are free to apply. Candidates who have been awarded this Fellowship earlier may also apply for a fresh award.

b) Applicants who have had no research experience will be required to work under a recognised guide. The total amount of the grant shall be Rs. 3000/-per annum, payable in three instalments through the guide after approval by the Award Sub-committee on the recommendation of the guide. The money will be paid on submission of vouchers for expenses incurred. The Fellow would be required to submit a preliminary / progress report through the guide before the next instalment is released. On the completion of the work the Fellow will be required to submit a final report.

Research experience and list of publications, if any, ix) Proposed place of work with the name of the guide with the latter’s signature indicating his/her consent. x) Permission from the Head of the Institution and from the Head of the Department.

Part-B
Details of the proposed research project on separate document and must not contain any indication of the name of the applicant or the guide or the place of work, either in the text or in the list of references.
